CCAA Update

The CCAA has finished the review of the adoption application documents registered with our office before January 31, 2006. The CCAA has finished the placement of children for the families whose adoption application documents were registered with our office before September 8, 2005.

For those of you who don't know what this means. My documents were registered with the CCAA office on October 21, 2005. So this is the date we watch each month when they refer the babies. Although my paperwork was sent to China 8/31/05, I really should have been registered in early September, but they had a screw up with paperwork and a lot of people's dossiers got misplaced, thus the October 21, 2005 date.

The predictions show that the next batch of referrals should be through September 29, 2005 and then the next set through October 8, 2005 and then hopefully we would make the third batch which should be around the end of February.

We will just have to wait and see.

A Letter From Big Sister Olivia

Dear Baby Lexi,

I am sorry you are taking so long to come home, but I hope it isn't too much longer. Boy this is alot of hard work waiting for you.

I have long hair that touches my bum! I have a nice princess room that you are going to share with me. I also have a lovely backyard for us to play in. I have a lot of movies we can watch together and lots of fun things to do. We can also draw pictures together in my Barbie notebook. I love drawing pictures for mommy. (p.s. I just told mommy not to type my bad cough into the letter) I also have a computer that I can teach you to play with.

I think you are going to have brown hair with some black in it.

Mommy works ZipRealty and we have a roof on the house so that the rain doesn't get us soaking wet (?????not sure what she is saying here). When it is dark at night you are probably going to want to sleep with me. We have some breakable angels in the house that you shouldn't touch.

Baby Lexi I hope you can come soon.

I can't wait to see you Baby Lexi!

Love,
Olivia

Rumor Queen Update 11/22/06!

Today rumor queen says that the latest batch of referrals are being matched in China which should include some if not all of LID September 2005. This would have been the batch of referrals I should have been in if my dossier that went over to China on 8/31/05 was logged in accurately.

Here are the postings from the Rumor Queen Website:

They’ve started matchingNovember 22nd, 2006
A very reliable agency has let their people know that the CCAA has begun the matching process.
With the exception of last month, referrals generally arrive from one day to one week after this agency makes this statement.

Going UPNovember 22nd, 2006
We have a rumor. Remember, this is an early rumor and early rumors are often not right.
One agency is saying that we will see either all of September or almost all of September this time.
Another agency is saying they are going to do all of September this time.
And yet another agency will only say that this batch is going to be a nice surprise.
There you have it. Of the three agencies, one has a decent track record, one has a not-very-good track record, and I’m not sure of the other’s track record.
The agency with the not-so-good track record doesn’t seem to think we will see them this week or next week.

Remembering Olivia's Referral

Here it is Thanksgiving week 2006 and it is hard not to remember back to November 2002 when I first saw Olivia's picture for the first time. As a new mom to be, I was so anxious to receive the fedex package but yet so nervous to open the envelope and get a glimpse of her.

Once opened, I shared the pictures with mom and my co-workers. Everyone was so excited to finally see her as I spoke about for nearly two years. I studied every inch of the pictures. Her eyes, her little nose, her cheekbone structure and her eyebrows. I knew every inch of her as if she was sitting right in front of me. Right after work I went to CVS and made copies of her pictures and put them in frames all over my house, as if she was already with me.

Now it is November 2006 and we are anxiously awaiting the same precious package to find out what Baby Lexi looks like. I wonder if she will look like Olivia, with a big round face and circular eyes.
